A Sneak Peak at Working in the Beauty Business!
Working in the educational part of the beauty industry is rewarding in more than one way. I have a front row seat to the latest trends in hair, makeup, nails, skin, and even barbering! I’m able to gain experience in business operations by working closely with our directors. One of my favorite duties is attending high school career fairs as a representative of the school. Upon attending a career fair, I look for prospective students who have a passion for all things beauty and want to build a successful career in this industry.
Our educators and administrative staff are close-knit yet come from all walks of life to deliver the most unique education for our students. I’ve come to recognize expert hands-on training when I see it and I see it daily. It’s a gratifying experience to watch the growth of a student from enrollment to graduation and then seeing their continued achievements for years to come.
One of my main goals working in the Admissions Office is to convey how important it is for students to know the different career options they will have post graduation. Hardworking cosmetologists, barbers, and skin care technicians have endless career options ranging from hairstylists to celebrity makeup artists and everything in between. It is always important to stay connected and treat everyone you work with as a future reference. I enjoy learning about the opportunities available through advanced classes and try to stress to entry-level graduates that continuing their education is a must to advance their earning potential. I look forward to learning more and making new connections with students on the path to a career in the beauty biz.
