What happens during a Keratin treatment?

The stylist will first conduct a thorough consultation. It is important for them to determine the client’s hair texture and degree of natural curl. As the client, be as open as possible about the chemical history of your hair and let your stylist know exactly what processes your hair has been through (color, perm, relaxers).

After the stylist has determined the length, density, and history of your hair, the process will begin! Keratin is a smoothing, strengthening and conditioning treatment applied and absorbed to your hair. Timonacic acid, an organic preservative, supplies proteins for hair repair which results in stronger hair. Benzoquinone, another ingredient found in the keratin treatment, infuses deep into the cuticle for optimum conditioning.

Depending on your hair length and texture, the treatment usually will take two hours. Your stylist will apply the product to your hair and let it absorb for 10-15 minutes. Then, your hair will be blown dry and flat ironed to smooth perfection.
