November Star Students
Sandra Elie-Douglas is a senior cosmetology student who chose the beauty industry because of the mantra “if you look good, you feel better.” Drawn to PB Beauty School because of the variety of Advanced Education classes, she hopes to take as many as she can to build a strong resume and boost her salon sales! Before attending Cosmetology School, Sandra was graduated from Long Island University’s School of Nursing in 2003. She chose to make a career change and follow her dreams of making people feel beautiful! Sandra’s beauty weapon of choice is a pair of shears because she believes that once you have a great cut, everything else falls into place. Her dream career would be becoming a celebrity stylist to Jennifer Lopez because she has beautiful hair. When Sandra isn’t on the salon floor, she enjoys spending time with her kids and supporting Breast Cancer Awareness.
Danica Phelan was graduated from Camden Catholic High School and is currently a junior in the Cosmetology Program. She has always had a passion for doing others’ hair and makeup and after seven years of going back and forth, she finally took the step to follow her dreams and start cosmetology school. Learning something new every day and knowing that she will be able to make people feel beautiful and confident is what pushes her to achieve her goals. Danica’s five-year dream is to work in a beauty and bridal salon doing cut, color, style, and spend her weekends doing bridal hair and makeup with a stylist team. A blow dryer is her beauty weapon of choice because everyone loves a good blowout! If Danica could choose a celebrity for whom to work, she would choose Jennifer Lopez because she has great hair. When not doing hair and makeup, Danica enjoys cooking, supporting Breaths for Corey, and dancing. She was a professional dancer for 15 years!
